This Is What an April Birthday Will Mean For the Royal Baby

The royal baby countdown is on, as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge await the arrival of their third child. The baby is due in April, and this means a number of things. Not only will it shift the order of those in line for the throne, but it will also add a new member to the core group of six royals, now that Charles's siblings are playing less of a key role in royal duties. Before we meet the Spring baby, here's what we can already determine from their April birth date.

Star Sign

With the royal baby's birthday falling toward the end of April, this will likely signal they will be a Taurus (April 20-May 20).

Traits of the Taurus include patience, dedication, and stability. As one of the most reliable star signs, the Taurus is practical and well-grounded, with family matters close to their hearts. The Taurus respects family routines, customs, and being present at all events and gatherings. The baby will share this zodiac sign with their older sister: Princess Charlotte was born on May 2, making her a true Taurus.

Birth Stone

April boasts one of the rarest and most-prized gemstones of them all as its birth stone: the diamond! Throughout history, the diamond has nearly always symbolised eternal and lasting love. We wonder if the new royal baby will be borrowing any diamonds from mother Kate, or even the Queen?

Birth Flower

April has two birth flowers: the daisy and the sweet pea. The daisy conveys innocence, purity, and love, while the sweet pea signifies blissful pleasure. Ox-eye daisies are even featured in royal home Highgrove House's wildflower meadow.

Chef Alain Verzeroli Arrives in New York With Le Jardinier

Chef Alain Verzeroli is opening his first restaurant in New York, but he’s not just opening one restaurant — he’s opening two. The first, Le Jardinier, is now open on the ground floor of Aby Rosen’s new Norman Foster-designed luxury condo, located on the same block as the Seagram building in Midtown. His move to New York follows an 18-year stint in Japan, most recently as director of culinary operations for the Michelin-starred Château Restaurant Joël Robuchon in Tokyo. While inspired by the vibrant energy of the city, Verzeroli aimed to create a peaceful oasis with Le Jardinier, where the menu’s focus is on plants. “As soon as you enter the space everything calms down,” says Verzeroli a few days before opening from the plant-accented dining room, which was designed by Joseph Dirand. (The project marks his first New York restaurant as well.) “You have a lot of energy outside, but once you’re here it’s more silent. It’s really a space where you can relax,” he adds. “I think it’s nice to
