Halfway through awards season, “KPop Demon Hunters” creator and codirector Maggie Kang is still checking items off her bucket list. “I got to meet Leonardo DiCaprio yesterday to finally tick that box,” Kang says. It’s the day after the Oscar nominees luncheon, which included a “class photo” featuring all of this year’s nominated talent. “It was either my third or fourth Academy event, and they’ve progressively become more fun because you just get more and more comfortable in the room and with seeing really famous people,” she adds. “[Steven] Spielberg’s there, and he’s like two feet away from you — you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is crazy.’” For other nominees, Kang might be that “oh my gosh” person to meet as the creator and codirector of one of this year’s most popular films. Released last summer, “KPop Demon Hunters” was the most streamed film of 2025, and is Netflix’s most-watched film of all time.  “The movie’s kind of taken on another life. Saudi Retail’s New Message to Global Brands: Adapt or Miss Out

RIYADH — The conversation about Saudi Arabia’s retail ambitions has shifted. It is no longer about whether the kingdom can attract international brands or fill new malls. The question now, as articulated across two days at the 2026 RLC Global Forum here earlier this month, is who sets the terms. Increasingly, the answer is local. Convened in partnership with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the forum brought together regional conglomerates, sovereign-backed institutions and global operators to discuss how the balance of power in retail is tilting toward markets that are no longer content to import a playbook. “We meet at a moment that feels fundamentally different from just a few years ago,” said Panos Linardos, chairman of RLC. “Growth today is no longer linear. It is not evenly distributed. It is no longer guaranteed.” A $40 Billion BlueprintBurak Çakmak, chief executive officer of the Saudi Fashion Commission, shared a detailed picture of the country’s retail ambition. The fash...

Sam Tutty Takes Broadway in ‘Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)’

Sam Tutty arrived in New York in early October, unaware he was in for a rather rude weather awakening. “It’s the coldest I’ve ever felt in my entire life,” the English actor says. Tutty, the star of “Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York),” has been surviving the New York winter with a team of humidifiers — and warmed by rave reviews for his Broadway debut. The West Sussex native stars as Dougal in the two-person show, which arrived on Broadway after runs off-West End, on the West End and in Cambridge, Mass. Finally, the New York-set show made its way to Broadway in November, at the Longacre.   The charmingly titled “Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)” follows Dougal, who flies to the city to attend his estranged father’s wedding. He is greeted at the airport by Robin, a native New Yorker who is the bride’s sister.  Tutty, 27, has starred as Dougal since the show’s off-West End run, in 2023.  “It was meant to be a six-week gig in a lovely theater call...

Emily Dawn Long Throws a Disco Dance Party at (Sub)Mercer During NYFW

We’ve always said it really isn’t New York Fashion Week without a dance floor makeout. On Friday evening, the scene outside The Mercer hotel’s subterranean club (Sub)Mercer felt far from the sanitized NYFW as of late. There were no street-style fits or social media postings, just vaping and gossiping and patiently waiting to be let in to dance.  Designer Emily Dawn Long had posted on her Instagram earlier in the week that she was throwing a disco party, “seeking everyone to come drip in sweat.” The night was titled “no one dances anymore,” which was also the name of her latest vintage T drop: the designer repurposed sourced vintage T-shirts that she emblazoned with her “no one dances anymore” logo and an image of two figures dancing.  The coat check at (Sub)Mercer had filled up within the first hour of the night: people were eager to party. Guests sipped martinis on the couch, while those on the dance floor opted for the more dance-friendly tequila soda. Little trays of brande...

‘The Traitors’ Star Maura Higgins Stops by the LaQuan Smith Fashion Show

LaQuan Smith rolled out the red carpet for his show guests on Saturday night. The designer debuted his latest collection at Chelsea Industrial, with a plush red runway that underscored the swagger of the “James Bond” inspiration behind the clothes. “I’m a huge fan of LaQuan. I’ve worn a few of his fits now, and I’m wearing him tonight,” said “The Traitors” star Maura Higgins, describing her revealing royal blue look as “ so hot, very feminine, sexy. Right up my street.” The Irish TV personality is in town for fashion week a few days after filming the reunion episode for murder-mystery show “The Traitors,” which is nearing the end of its fourth season. Higgins is currently one of the last remaining “faithfuls” still in the game.  ”There’s a lot more that happens. But I’m not allowed to share anything, unfortunately,” she said. “You’ll just have to tune in. But it was a great experience — and there’s a lot more to come.” Higgins was joined in the front row by the popular show’s Season T...

Celebrities at AWGE Fall 2026: Rihanna, A$AP Nast and More

Inside the former Emigrant Savings Bank in downtown Manhattan, money was on a late start for A$AP Rocky’s AWGE show. It was 30 minutes past the listed show time, and the venue was mostly empty. Invited guests were still waiting for the main doors to open, although a few early VIP arrivals were already inside the room, mingling as jazz music played overhead. It might have felt serene, if not for the palpable anticipation growing for one VIP’s imminent arrival. Rihanna and the rest of the crowd entered the room just before 9 p.m. once the singer took her seat — with a mob of photographers capturing the moment — and the show quickly got started. After A$AP Rocky took his bow, VIPs including A$AP Nast, A$AP Illz, Julia Fox, Young M.A and former boxer Eric Kelly headed downstairs to the backstage where A$AP Rocky was holding court. After a brief huddle off to the side with Rihanna, the rapper headed into a mirrored AWGE-branded former vault to field questions about the collection. “I wanted...

Naomi Watts, Matt Bomer and More Attend Jonathan Simkhai’s Dinner at WSA

This season, Jonathan Simkhai didn’t wanted to be sequestered backstage, away from friends and supporters of his brand. “ It was all about like community for me this season, and wanting to bring the community together and be able to connect with people,” said the designer, who hosted a celebratory dinner for his collection on Friday night at downtown creative hub WSA. Racks of clothing and accessories were displayed throughout the minimal sixth-floor gallery space, set up for press appointments earlier in the day. “Fashion, for me, it’s about celebration. The brand is really about celebration and also like feeling good and being around people you love; people like your closest friends and the people that support you, and being together.” Before dinner, guests including Naomi Watts, Helena Christensen, Matt Bomer and “The Pitt” star Supriya Ganesh were able to take a closer look at the collection as servers passed around trays of cocktails and mocktails. For those feeling the strain of ...

Inside Kees, a New Classic Cocktail Bar From a PDT Alum

PDT alum Jeff Bell is setting out to make Kees, his new cocktail bar, another staple of the New York dining scene. But rather than recreate an existing hit, he focused the concept on the appeal of tried-and-true classic cocktails.  “I’m a patient guy,” says Bell, who began at East Village speakeasy Please Don’t Tell as a bartender in 2010 and took over as owner a decade later. “I’ve been at PDT 16 years, and if I’m gonna do something new, I really gotta do it right,” he adds. “And that’s what Kees is all about. I’ve taken everything I’ve learned and refined and homed it, and got it to a point where it’s really nice classic cocktails, a lot of restraint, a lot of elegance.” Kees is located in the subterranean space at One Cornelia, a corner of the West Village that’s also home to his recently opened agave bar Mixteca and casual taqueria Tacos 1986. Kees is part speakeasy in vibe, but built to skirt any pretense. While the cocktails at PDT are rooted in “esoteric ingredients,” t...

Celebrating 45 Years of Michael Kors With Martinis, Burgers and Rufus Wainwright

After taking over the Metropolitan Opera House for his 45th anniversary show, Michael Kors kept the New York feel going with an after party across the street at P.J. Clarke’s. While “Chess” star Lea Michele, who’d been at the show, had to run to make the night’s performance, other Broadway stars including Rachel Zegler, Kara Young and Nicole Scherzinger were in attendance. Dakota Fanning sat at a table by the windows, sipping a martini. Trays of burgers, fries and lobster rolls circled the room as guests such as Martha Stewart, Suki Waterhouse, Kelsea Ballerini, Leslie Bibb, Supriya Ganesh and Ava Phillippe mingled throughout the restaurant.  Kors himself arrived later on, his signature dark aviators on and husband Lance Le Pere by his side. The room lit up and the crowd parted.  “Oh my god, he’s like the pope,” a guest enthused. Michael Kors Gibert Flores/WWD After Kors had done a round of photos with his ladies, he made his way over to where Rufus Wainwright was stationed....

Celebrities at Christian Siriano Fall 2026: Julia Fox, Leslie Jones and More

It was soon after the doors opened for Christian Siriano’s fall show, and the runway was already packed. The designer’s show always brings out a crowd of his loyal supporters, genuine in their excitement to cheer on a friend. Whoopi Goldberg, a requested face in the front row, made her way through the packed room. Natasha Lyonne, with an arm draped around Uzo Aduba’s shoulder, followed suit. They joined seat mates including Julia Fox, Monica, Leslie Jones, and Willa Ford, who was slated to perform later at the after party and is releasing her second studio album — the follow-up to 2001’s “Willa Was Here” — next month. Jones, who was famously dressed by Siriano for her first major Hollywood premiere — “Ghostbusters” in 2016 — was in the front row excited “to see beautiful beauty and beautiful clothes,” said the comedic actress. “And celebrate a wonderful designer who is for every woman. I love him.” During the show, Jones also showed her love for the models, phone camera in hand as she ...

Paper Celebrates Lunar New Year With Johnnie Walker and a ‘K-pop Demon Hunters’ Sing-a-long

On Wednesday night, Paper magazine teamed up with Johnnie Walker to host a Lunar New Year party in celebration of Year of the Fire Horse. Early in the evening, the line of party-goers waiting to get inside the W Hotel’s second floor Living Room lounge snaked down the staircase and into the lobby. The event was also a celebration of Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s special Lunar New Year bottle edition, with a graphic conceptualized by Robert Wun. “ I’ve never done anything remotely like this,” Wun said at the start of the night. Inspired by the whisky brand’s “keep walking” slogan, he created an image of a horse in movement alongside a model draped in one of his signature pleated designs. For Wun, Year of the Horse is synonymous with his mother. “ The earliest fashion memory that I had since I was a kid was her pleated maxi trousers that she wore,” said Wun. “The horse always linked to my mom, her work ethic,” he added. “There’s always this story about women empowering themselves and then g...

Dove Cameron Evokes Understated Lingerie Inspiration

Dove Cameron put a 1930s silhouette spin on her lingerie-inspired look for the “56 Days” premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. The actress and singer’s red carpet moment featured Cameron in a gown evocative of ’30s silhouettes with a bias cut. The silky satin dress featured a pink tone so light it nearly looked like cream. The sleeveless dress incorporated thin straps with gold clasps at the back. Dove Cameron Michael Buckner A sweetheart neckline added a further feminine touch to the look, with a bodice that featured a form-fitting design and a drop waist that flowed into a short train, trailing Cameron as she walked the red carpet. As for jewelry pieces, the actress went minimal, wearing a gold watch and her engagement ring from fiancé Damiano David. When it came to glam, Cameron’s hair and makeup provided a stark contrast to her soft, feminine dress. The actress’ long dark hair was styled with a middle part and worn in soft waves that cascaded down her shoulders. Her makeup in...

On Wednesday evening, Tory Burch kicked off her fall 2026 show with a front row of guests including Pamela Anderson, Tessa Thompson, Amanda Seyfried, Grace Gummer, Marcello Hernandez and his girlfriend, Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral, Mary Beth Barone, Song Yuqi, Ella Mai, Maisie Peters and Anne Nakamura. Anderson was dressed in a gray cardigan and white pleated skirt. The Tory team had made getting dressed for the show easy for the actress, just as she prefers. “I didn’t select it. They just said, ‘this is what we want you to wear’ and I said, ‘All right!’ It’s comfortable, and that’s all I care about,” she said.  Anderson was fresh from the set of her upcoming film “Somedays,” which has been shooting in New Jersey and will also star Billy Bob Thornton and Ariana Greenblatt and which she wrapped work on only a few days prior.  “There’s always a come down, so I’m in that moment. So a fashion show sounds wonderful – to just sit here and watch,” she said. “I’m going to Berlin tomorrow...

On Wednesday, the Coach front row was packed with Gen Z appeal. From the stars of buzzy films and shows to popular internet personalities, the brand knows its audience — and who its audience would be excited to spot in the show audience. “ Here to see the new looks,” said “Him” star Tyriq Withers, gearing up for the press tour for his romantic drama “Reminders of Him,” out March 13. “I never pass up an opportunity to put a nice outfit on. Because a nice outfit is like armor; makes you feel better.” Naturally, his armor for the moment was “head to toe Coach.” “I got the Coach boot — nothing better than a boot, you know what I’m saying? You got free flowing pants, straight off runway. And then I have a little shirt with a little midriff. A little midriff with a blazer on, with Coach belt. I got my little pursey-purse,” he added, raising his beige Coach bag from the bench beside him. Emily Bader, seated next to Withers, was also baring some midriff in the front row. “ We wanted see someth...

Models.com Marks 25 Years With Paloma Elsesser, Georgia Fowler, Grace Elizabeth and More

Models.com, the digital database for all things models, agencies and artists, is more accustomed to being behind the scenes. Yet the company couldn’t let its 25th anniversary pass without acknowledgement, so it threw a dinner on Tuesday — its first — to kick off NYFW and celebrate. Naturally, the room at Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya was brimming with models, including Paloma Elsesser, Grace Elizabeth, Georgia Fowler, Alton Mason, Jill Kortleve and Calum Harper. “When we launched, the first thing we had was the top 50 ranking,” recalled editor in chief Stephan Moskovic. “I remember the time we got an email from David Bonnouvrier at DNA and he was like ‘Who the f–k are you guys? Where do you get your information?’ And it was like ‘OK we hit a nerve.’ So it was really organic, and the site has involved so much in 25 years.” Calum Harper and Paloma Elsesser Lexie Moreland/WWD Moskovic pointed to 2008 as the biggest change point, when they expanded to the public. “We were looking at the rankin...

Emma Stone Michael Buckner Stone’s dress was paired with sheer black tights, and she wore a strappy pair of black Aquazzura sandal heels to complete the look. Not only through the collection, but through the whole experience that is the show. Because it really doesn’t feel like just a fashion show. It’s always a story. Walking in the show were three football players: former Steelers linebacker Marcus Allen, Justin Jefferson of the Vikings and wide receiver Deandre Hopkins. “I loved seeing [Browne’s] garments, his structu...
