Mariah Carey brought a healthy dose of theatricality to her 2026 Olympic Winter Games opening ceremony performance on Friday in Milan, Italy. The singer wore an ornate design from Roberto Cavalli by Fausto Puglisi. The gown featured an Art Deco-inspired design of shimmering beads and crystal embellishments on the bodice, waist and skirt of the dress. The look included a flowing, dramatic train that cascaded behind Carey as she sang “Nothing Is Impossible” and the Italian song “Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu).” Evocative of the wintery season, the singer added a feathery wrap to her look. When it came to glam, Carey’s blond hair cascaded past her shoulders in voluminous waves. The singer’s makeup was serene with popping lined, smokey eyes. Carey has always had a flair for the theatrical, gravitating toward luxurious designs throughout her career. Glittering, rhinestone-encrusted costumes have been a staple for her performance attire, even as recently as her 2025 MTV Video Music Awards Vanguard
