The 15 Best Moisturizers for Dry, Sensitive Skin, According to Dermatologists

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. Finding the best moisturizer for dry, sensitive skin is no easy task. While you might be tempted to slather on the richest formula you can find and call it a day, catering to sensitivity and the different causes of dryness or dehydration requires a little extra work. What causes dry, sensitive skin? According to dermatologists, there’s no shortage of possibilities. “There’s a whole host of reasons this may occur,” says dermatologist Dr. Mona Gohara. “You might not be moisturizing enough, using overly harsh products to cleanse, overusing retinoids, over-exfoliating, or using the wrong mix of products.” Beyond your routine, external factors such as changes in weather (hello, fall!) or sun exposure can also contribute to this skin type. Whether your sensitivity shows up as an occasional reaction to products or a more frequent skin condition flare up (like ec

Clé de Peau Beauté and Artist Cj Hendry Bring ‘Flower Market’ to Roosevelt Island

This weekend — and only this weekend — 100,000 flowers are in bloom on New York’s Roosevelt Island. Artist Cj Hendry and Clé de Peau Beauté have unveiled “Flower Market,” their immersive installation of plush flowers, at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park. Visitors are invited to “pick” a flower from the exhibition to take with them; additional flowers, along with floral-themed merchandise, can be purchased. The beauty brand and artist hosted a VIP preview of the installation on Thursday night ahead of its public opening. Hendry, who’s been working on the collaboration for the past two years, described the exhibition’s official debut as “magical.” “Seeing the crowd walk into the installation and their initial reaction was priceless,” said the Australia-based artist, whose photorealistic drawings found a large audience initially through Instagram. “What surprised me most was how much people wanted to interact with the flowers — there was this instinctual desire to touch,

Megan Park on Her Second Feature Film ‘My Old Ass’ With Maisy Stella and Aubrey Plaza

“The Fallout” director Megan Park began working on her second feature with a vague concept and bold title: “My Old Ass.” “The title was one of the first things that I came up with,” Park says of the film, which was released in theaters Friday. “I didn’t know where the story was going to go or what was going to happen necessarily — but the title, it set the tone for me.” It’s mid-August, and the 38-year-old writer-director is in New York for press, including an outdoor screening of the film later that evening on the downtown waterfront. “My Old Ass” premiered during the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and is getting a theatrical release nine months later, just as summer begins its transition to fall.   “It feels like a really good time of year for it to come out,” says Park of the release date. The film takes place during the summer before the main character heads off to their freshman year of college. “That was our dream.” While selling the movie, the title became a litmus te

Michael Urie Is in His Dreamy Era

“It’s been a dreamy couple of years,” says Michael Urie on a Friday afternoon phone call, just hours before a performance of his latest Broadway show “Once Upon a Mattress” at the Hudson Theatre. These dreamy years have also been busy ones for the star, who rose to fame for his role as Marc St. James on the sitcom “Ugly Betty.” Now, Urie stars in the hit Apple TV dramedy “Shrinking” alongside Harrison Ford and Jason Segel — season two premieres Oct. 16. He has also taken the stage by storm over the past couple of years, starring in Broadway’s revival of “Spamalot” and now the revival of “Once Upon a Mattress,” which also had a stint at New York City Center in the winter. While both shows feature Urie in showstopping musical numbers, he never considered himself to be “very musical.”  Michael Urie in “Once Upon a Mattress.” “Doing a musical at all, it’s still a pinch me thing,” he says. “I fell in love with theater because of musicals…[but singing] didn’t come naturally to me.”  Urie con

EXCLUSIVE: Kourtney Kardashian Barker’s Lemme Wants In on the Ozempic Boom

Lemme is betting big on weight loss supplements.  On Monday, Kourtney Kardashian Barker’s supplement brand will launch its Lemme GLP-1 Daily, $90 or $72 with subscription, a weight management capsule formulated with three clinically studied and patented ingredients: Eriomin lemon fruit extract, Supresa saffron extract and Morosil red orange fruit extract. Rather than employing synthetic GLP-1s like the drugs on the market, Lemme’s supplement aims to naturally increase the body’s GLP-1 levels over time. This new launch, which will be exclusively available on the brand’s website, rounds out Lemme’s metabolic-centric lineup, which also includes Lemme Burn, $40, said to boost metabolism and burn fat, and Lemme Curb, $40, a cravings support supplement. It also comes on the heels of the brand’s Lemme Curb, $30, chew launch, a new format in the lineup. “There’s so many incredible benefits [of GLP-1s] outside of weight loss and appetite control, whether it’s reduced inflammation, slower aging,

Getting Ready for Michael Kors With Mindy Kaling

“I love the Michael Kors show. We share the same initials,” said Mindy Kaling, from the car en route to the designer’s spring 2025 show. The actress and producer, who has attended the designer’s shows a few times now, was making her last stop of NYFW at the Kors show before immediately catching a flight home to see her kids. For Michael Kors, she got to take advantage of the temperate New York weather and wear one of the designer’s gray wool coats.   “I’ve been working for 20 years and I’ve gone to a lot of fashion things, but I’ve never worn outerwear as a dress. So it’s so exciting to wear this timeless, beautiful tweed coat. It feels like a really kind of luxurious staple for Michael Kors,” she said. “But I love that it’s a little sexy because I’m wearing it with nothing underneath, which is kind of fun.” In addition to sharing initials, Kaling is a fan of “the kind of women that he’s drawn to and wants to include in these events.”  “Fashion can sometimes have the reputation of not

Gwyneth Paltrow, Colman Domingo and More Celebrate Boucheron’s Opening in New York

After a chaotic week of running between shows and parties, the Boucheron cocktail party Tuesday evening — held in the garden at the Cooper Hewitt museum with a lullaby of a performance by Leon Bridges — felt like a much-needed balm. That is, once you actually made it up to 91st Street.  The jewelry brand was celebrating the opening of its first New York boutique, and installed an immersive exhibit in the museum called “From Paris to New York: A Cutting-edge Journey Since 1858,” which shows off the brand’s 166-year history of pieces. The exhibition deposited guests out into the garden, where sparkling rosé was passed, couches had been arranged and mingling commenced. The night was attended by many a Hollywood star, each more glittering in jewels than the next. Gwyneth Paltrow, Colman Domingo, Hailee Steinfeld, Cole Sprouse and girlfriend Ari Fournier, Mina, Alexa Chung, and Anja Rubik were each outfitted in Boucheron gems. Other guests included Nicole Ari Parker, Aly Raisman, Bambi Nort

Raffles Celebrates New Campaign With Fashion Week Dinner

On Tuesday night at Indochine, everyone was talking about the butler. Luxury hospitality brand Ruffles hosted a dinner during fashion week to celebrate the release of its new campaign, “The Butler Did It,” that highlights the butler service at their properties worldwide. Images from the campaign were set at every dinner seat, and the team behind the imagery were on hand to detail their creation. “When I met first with Claudia [Kozma Kaplan, global head of brand] and Omer [Acar, chief executive officer], I said, what’s the one thing that makes Raffles different than all the other fabulous hotels? They’re like ‘our butlers. They take care of everything before you even realize you need it,'” said Trey Laird, who led creative on the campaign. “It’s like, oh — ‘the butler did it.’ So I thought, I want to make it this eccentric thing that these crazy, stylish, amazing guests go and the butler takes care of everything — their wildest requests.” He cast model Tim Easton in the role of the

Kering’s Caring for Women Dinner Raises Nearly $3 Million With Help From Kim Kardashian, Salma Hayek Pinault and Naomi Watts

Between New York Fashion Week and the Toronto International Film Festival, it’s a busy season for celebrities, but that didn’t stop some of Hollywood’s biggest names from gathering at Kering’s third annual Caring for Women dinner on Monday at The Pool. The company’s eponymous foundation, which is celebrating its 16th anniversary, raised nearly $3 million to end gender-based violence. “I’m only going to essentials,” model and actress Hari Nef said of her NYFW agenda. “This is a week about choosing who and what I support, and I choose to support women with Kering.” Led by the organization’s honorary president, Salma Hayek Pinault, the event’s A-list co-chairs included Naomi Watts, Matthew McConaughey and Kim Kardashian. After Manhattan gridlock delayed the red carpet and cocktails, guests such as Katy Perry, Ashley Graham and Julianne Moore wasted no time getting inside. Attendees ascended a staircase to a dimly lit lounge, where Julia Garner mingled with Lenny Kravitz and Hayek Pinault

Celebrities Front Row at Tory Burch Spring 2025: Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen and More

Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen, Mindy Kaling, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lukita Maxwell, Charlotte Lawrence, Maude Apatow, Song Yuqi and KiKi Layne headed to the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn on Monday evening for Tory Burch’s spring 2025 show.  It was Turner-Smith’s first show of the week.  “I love her eye for design, her creative aesthetic. I was very interested to see what the season would bring,” she said of coming to see Burch’s latest.  Turner-Smith chose a structured, textured jacket with a high collared shirt for the occasion. “I really love how it was kind of like a menswear-y feel, obviously so chic and elegant and feminine, almost military, and also schoolboy,” she said.  After New York, Turner-Smith will head to London, though she stayed mum as to what show she’ll attend. “You’ll see,” she smiled. Next to her, Williams was feeling nostalgic.  “When I first moved to New York City, I remember when the [Tory Burch] store opened on Elizabeth Street, and I remember how it really

Celebrities Front Row at Coach Spring 2025 Ready-to-Wear: Jayson Tatum, Charles Melton and More

On Monday afternoon, Coach staged its latest runway show close to home: the stretch of the New York City Highline right outside its Hudson Yards headquarters. It was a quintessential New York setting for the brand’s love letter to the city — and an opportunity for the crowd to see Pamela Rosenkranz’s hot pink “Old Tree” sculpture before it gets swapped for a giant pigeon sculpture this fall. Front-row guests included several stars of Coach’s fall “Unlock Your Courage” campaign. “It’s such a dream come true to be a part of a great company; to be part of a brand that has so much history and beautiful narrative and storytelling,” said Charles Melton, sitting next to fellow campaign face Storm Reid before the show. “I second everything Charles said,” added Reid. “I’ve been working with Coach for a really long time, so it really feels like a familial relationship, rather than a work relationship. So I’m just happy to be here,” she said, before showing off her green Statue of Liberty earring

Celebrities Front Row at Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2025 Ready to Wear: Jisoo,  Patrick Schwartzenegger, Brooke Shields, Colin Jost and More

The Staten Island ferry famously purchased by Colin Jost and Pete Davidson was packed with star power Sunday evening for Tommy Hilfiger’s NYFW show. The front row included Patrick Schwarzenegger, Jisoo, Felix and Lee Know from Stray Kids, Suni Lee, Gabby Thomas, Colin Jost, Marcello Hernandez, Damson Idris, Brooke Shields, Doechii, Shay Mitchell, Ava Dash, Thomas Doherty, Jackson White and Madelyn Cline. While waiting for the show to start, Schwarzenegger and Cline made small talk and Lee and Thomas hugged upon seeing each other. “What are you guys doing on this boat?” White, whose series “Tell Me Lies” just came out with its second season last week, joked to Idris.  “SNL” stars Jost and Hernandez were last to arrive in the front row. “I took this boat every single morning to high school,” Jost said of the ferry. “It makes me feel confident,” Lee said about wearing the brand. Earlier in the day she’d hit the Off-White show, during what is her first-ever fashion week.  “Seeing everythin

Best Dressed at Venice Film Festival 2024

After seasons of fashion-forward and risk taking styles, celebrities have opted for a return to classicism at the 2024 Venice Film Festival. Despite the look being old Hollywood, the result feels modern and chic. The moment when George and Amal Clooney, and Brad Pitt took to the red carpet, their major star power was enhanced by their timeless fashion choices — especially with evening wear. Two years ago when Pitt was promoting “Bullet Train,” his choices of colorful fabrics and skirted silhouettes felt incredibly fresh and of the moment — especially with the likes of Timothee Chalamet and Harry Styles pushing the boundaries. Now, the crisp tuxedo felt like a welcomed palette cleanser. Similarly, fashion risk-taker Tilda Swinton wore a tailored take on a long sleeved shirt and high-waisted pants — and looked incredibly timeless doing so.  Hollywood glamour is always a safe fashion bet — and Venice did just that.  Here, WWD highlights the best dressed celebrities at Venice 2024. Amal Cl

Getting Ready in Vintage Stella McCartney for TIFF With Brenda Song

In the midst of all the New York Fashion Week action, the Toronto International Film Festival is having its fair share of major style moments. Over the weekend, Gia Coppola’s new film “The Last Showgirl” had its premiere, and is already earning rave reviews. The film stars Pamela Anderson as a longtime Las Vegas showgirl named Shelley, who is told that the show she leads will close permanently in two weeks. The film also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Brenda Song, Dave Bautista, Kiernan Shipka and Billie Lourd. For the big premiere night, Song, who broke out on the Disney Channel in the 2000s, wore an “incredible” vintage Stella McCartney gown styled by Elizabeth Stewart’s team. Song started the day “steaming my dress at 6 a.m.,” before moving onto glam with Richard Grant on hair and Tami El-Sombati on makeup.  “It’s all about the skin prep and yes, I’m in my pjs,” she captioned a photo of the process. Makeup was “a bronze smokey eye” and hair was “‘effortless’ waves that take a lot of effort

Greta Lee, Meg Ryan Attend Al Fresco Saks and Loewe Dinner at Pace Gallery

Saks and Loewe offered an artful break from the usual New York Fashion Week party stops on Saturday night, inviting an intimate crowd to an al fresco dinner on the sixth floor terrace at Pace Gallery on 25th Street. Designer Jonathan Anderson was in town fresh from the Venice Film Festival premiere of Luca Guadagnino’s “Queer”; Anderson designed the film’s costumes, marking the second collaboration between the two creatives following “Challengers.” The dinner crowd included many of Loewe’s film industry friends, including Greta Lee, Tracee Ellis Ross, Meg Ryan, Morgan Spector, Evan Peters, Young Mazino, and Murray Bartlett along with fashion industry peers like Karlie Kloss, Tanner Reese and Tyler Mitchell. “Industry” star Myha’la Herrold, who was the face of Loewe’s 2023 pre-fall campaign, took advantage of the Hudson River backdrop with an impromptu shoot during cocktail hour. “Woo! Oh my god, he’s so hot!” Lee had appeared next to the small group of photographers and was hyping up A

Chloë Sevigny, Addison Rae, Natasha Lyonne and More Party for Myth Magazine’s Launch During NYFW

The scent of cigarette smoke wafting down Sixth Avenue announced that the Myth Magazine party was nearby on Saturday evening around 9:30 p.m. The venue, downtown hot spot Holiday Bar, has hosted many a fashion party since opening a few years ago — but the outdoor sidewalk terrace that served as a smoking section surely had to be what made it the venue of choice. Myth Magazine editor in chief, stylist Haley Wollens, and needs-no-introduction Chloë Sevigny were hosting a party to celebrate the launch of the magazine. Slogans like “fashion is a performance,” “magazines are a myth” and “I’m not like the other magazines” were on display inside the restaurant, which had been cleared of its tables to enable dancing.  Addison Rae, Natasha Lyonne, Coco Gordon Moore, Tyrell Hampton, Rebecca Dayan and Rowan Blanchard were in attendance, as was Wollens’ mother, plus other members of the downtown and aspirationally downtown set. 1980s synth blended into ’90s hip-hop overhead, electronic roses glowi

Celebrities Front Row at Willy Chavarria Spring 2025 Ready-to-Wear: Ciara, Tracee Ellis Ross and More

Tracee Ellis Ross sat Friday evening fanning herself in her front-row seat ahead of Willy Chavarria’s show. It was exceptionally hot inside the Wall Street venue as showgoers and VIPs alike sought refuge in the form of the show programs as fans.  Ross was with her brother Evan Ross for her very first Chavarria show — though she’s been a supporter from the beginning.  “I mean Willy! He’s the hottest thing — and by the way, the models are usually the hottest thing,” she said with a laugh. She wears his clothes “all the time,” having been “one of the early people wearing his stuff.” “I love an oversize pair of pants, I love a long pant. I love the way he does a shoulder,” she raved. “I hate saying this expression of bringing streetwear in, because it’s not. It’s just fashion, but he takes the runway of life and brings it onto the runway in the most appropriate way.” It was their first show of the week, but taking in fashion shows as a brother-sister duo is something the Ross siblings have

Moda Operandi Hosts Cocktails and Live Jazz Party to Celebrate NYFW

In the midst of the first official day of New York Fashion Week, Moda Operandi offered a moment of relaxation in the form of a cocktail party and live jazz show at The Jazz Café at Casa Cipriani. Guests included Ava Phillippe, Sarah Hoover, Athena Calderone, Charlotte Groeneveld, Talita von Furstenberg, Joseph Altuzarra, Trish Westcoat Pound of TWP, The Frankie Shops’ Gaëlle Drevet and of course, Moda Operandi cofounder and chief brand officer Lauren Santo Domingo and chief executive officer Jim Gold. Trays of Aperol spritzes and glasses of rosé swirled about as influencers chatted and swapped fashion week schedules. Attendees were dressed in everything from striped boxer shorts — one of summer’s hottest trends — to flowing red gowns, as was the case with a trio of young women who looked like they were ready for a black-tie affair.  Fresh off her performance at the LuisaViaRoma store opening party, Charlotte Lawrence serenaded the crowd with her musical talents as the night neared clos

Celebrities (And Dogs) Front Row at the Rachel Antonoff and Susan Alexandra Spring 2025 Fashion Show

Every so often a dog will pop up in the front row of a fashion show, usually on the lap of a very VIP guest. At Rachel Antonoff and Susan Alexandra’s joint fashion show on Friday afternoon, all guests were encouraged to bring their furry companions along to St. Ann’s Warehouse in Dumbo. And everyone in the audience was also very, very encouraged to adopt one of the dogs walking in the show, which partnered with Animal Haven and Muddy Paws Rescue. “I think my doodle would be so mad if I brought home another dog,” said Busy Philipps before the show, which was “Best of Show” themed. “I’m a huge fan of Rachel Antonoff and I’ve been a friend of hers for many years. I love her clothing. I buy it, I wear it myself, and I love Susan Alexander. My daughter’s obsessed with all of her jewelry,” she added. “I also love dogs.” Guests lined up outside of the theater, while several of the model-rescue dogs lounged on the ground nearby, getting an early taste of the attention that often accompanies fa

Air Mail and Bloomingdale’s Brings Italian Flair to Fashion Week With Upper East Side Soiree

On Thursday night, Air Mail and Bloomingdale’s teamed up to bring the retailer’s “From Italy, With Love” fall campaign to life on the Upper East Side. The first floor of the Academy Mansion set the scene for a lively evening with Italian touches throughout the sprawling party, which channeled nostalgia through the setting of the 1920s mansion, longtime media personalities and a few film icons. The party was hosted by Graydon Carter and Bloomingdale’s chief executive officer Olivier Bron, along with event cohosts Isabella Rossellini, Christine Baranski and Morgan Spencer. “Do you think there’s a Negroni around here?” A guest was walking alongside Spector, past the gelato cart in the courtyard. It was a fair assumption; there were nods to the Italian theme throughout the party, including a food installation by Laila Gohar (the artist’s second fashion week party of the week), which featured cubes constructed of Italian assortments: olives, tomatoes and mozzarella. Less than an hour into t

Gigi Hadid Hosts Dinner for Guest in Residence Collaboration With Caviar Kaspia

What would New York Fashion Week be without a dinner at Caviar Kaspia at The Mark? On Thursday night, the evening before the official start of the shows, Gigi Hadid hosted an intimate dinner for friends including Helena Christensen, Taylor Hill, Daphne Groeneveld, Patrick Ta and Astrid Baarsma. Hadid’s knitwear brand Guest in Residence was celebrating the launch of its collaboration with Caviar Kaspia, which includes two colorful cashmere sweaters featuring the restaurant’s signature teal hue and tin artwork. “It starts to feel like the best parts of art class when we get to collaborate with other people, brands and places that have such strong memories and are so well-branded really in their own right. We get to take the best of what they’ve created and put it into knitwear,” Hadid said. “I thought that a great way to celebrate Caviar Kaspia was with that beautiful imagery. And the colors to me are the most fun part of what I do. Sitting down on the floor with all the swatches for tha

Usher, Tom Hiddleston, Naomi Campbell and More Celebrate at Ralph Lauren NYFW Party

After the final runway bow, Ralph Lauren’s night in the Hamptons continued with a dinner experience that was straight from the Polo Bar.  Guests made their way into the dinner space, which revealed itself to be a near-replica of the Midtown Manhattan hotspot – even the restaurant’s maître d’ Nelly Moudime was on hand. The restaurant’s signature popovers were waiting in baskets, and a bar had been set up with “Hamptons Spritzes” and “Ralph’s Lemonade Iced Tea” on offer. The main difference? The recreated Polo Bar was about twice the size of the Manhattan one, leaving much more room to mingle. After walking in the show, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington relaxed inside the venue, posing for pictures together and receiving many compliments. In a corner booth nearby, the man himself – Mr. Ralph Lauren – was dressed in one of the brand’s polo shirts from the closing ceremony of the Olympics with USA emblazoned on the front, talking with his seat mate, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. “Have you

Celebrities Front Row at Ralph Lauren Spring 2025: First Lady Jill Biden, Usher, Jude Law and More

“Color me impressed,” rising actress Diana Silvers said to the gentleman next to her Thursday evening ahead of Ralph Lauren’s spring 2025 show, as she took in the scene around her. After many hours in the car — or a short few in a chopper, if you’re lucky, famous or both — guests were deposited onto a meticulously curated equestrian scene in Bridgehampton, N.Y., where the night began with an outdoor cocktail hour next to a pasture of horses. Adding to the impression was the night’s big VIP: none other than First Lady Jill Biden, who attended with granddaughter Finnegan Biden. Other celebrity guests included Jude Law, Usher, Kacey Musgraves, Naomi Watts, Colman Domingo, Tom Hiddleston, Cole Spouse, Joey King, Laura Dern and daughter Jaya Harper, Demi Singleton, H.E.R., Justin Theroux and Rufus Wainwright. Biden was approached by one celebrity after the next. Hiddleston themed his questions around their surroundings.  “Do you ride horses?” he asked her. “No,” she replied.  It was Jude La

‘Uglies’ Star Joey King Kicks Off New York Fashion Week With Longchamp

“I’m number two.” Joey King had just gotten her numerology reading, and was relaying what the number represented: harmony. “I like communication, openness, and compromise,” said King, reading the back of the numerology card, which she’d picked up during Longchamp’s fashion week party at Location05 in Hudson Yards. The actress was Longchamp’s number one for the evening, the special guest at an event celebrating the brand’s fall 2024 collection and Le Roseau handbag. “I’ve always been a fan of the brand,” said King, dressed in a full green-and-orange Longchamp look for the occasion. “I’ve had a Longchamp bag since I was 17 or 18 years old. It is my go-to: dress up, dress down; casual, breezy,” she added. “As I’ve gotten older, I feel like they make a lot of pieces that connect with who I’ve grown into.” King is gearing up to release her latest project, a film adaptation of the popular YA book “Uglies” for Netflix. In addition to starring as main character Tally Youngblood, King served as

How Max Retailer Is Helping Retailers and Brands Manage Excess Inventory

In this episode of WWD Voices, host Arthur Zaczkiewicz, executive editor at WWD, interviewed Melodie van der Baan, cofounder and chief executive officer of Max Retailer. During the discussion, van der Baan shared insights into the challenges faced by small retailers and independent brands regarding excess inventory and how her company is making strides to address these issues efficiently. Max Retailer operates as a zero-inventory tech platform that specializes in connecting independent retailers and brands with excess inventory to online retailers and marketplaces. The goal is to secure higher payouts for these companies than what is typically seen with traditional liquidation methods, and to do so with minimal effort on their part. “It’s about getting these companies the financial returns they need with the least hassle,” van der Baan said. Small and independent retailers often find themselves at a disadvantage when it comes to handling unsold inventory. Unlike large retailers who can

Peeking Into the Values-driven Gen Z Mindset

In this special edition of WWD Voices, hosted by Arthur Zaczkiewicz, the spotlight turns to the much talked about Generation Z. This demographic, known for its significant market influence and unique consumer behavior, has businesses keen to connect in meaningful ways. Zaczkiewicz welcomed three young Gen Zers: Benjamin Francis, Taylor Kane and Nikki Salvestrini, who each shared insights into their lives, career aspirations and the values that shape their decisions. Francis, a 20-year-old pianist residing in Tennessee, emphasized the professional focus necessary in the arts. For him, building a supportive community and network is crucial to advancing in the competitive music industry. His narrative wasn’t just about financial survival, but finding a creative and collaborative tribe that could propel his musical journey. Kane, a 19-year-old English major and circulation assistant at a college library in Binghamton, shared a different perspective. Pursuing a career in librarianship, she

The Venice Film Festival Looks We Can’t Stop Looking At

This has been the best Venice red carpet — rather, best red carpet period — in recent memory. There have been classic, old school A-Listers, from George Clooney and Brad Pitt to Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman, and they’ve shown up in proper red carpet glamour.  Angelina Jolie: B Angelina Jolie attends a red carpet for the series “Maria” during the 81st Venice International Film Festival. (Photo by Andreas Rentz/Getty Images) There is something reassuring about seeing someone like Jolie in full glamour on the red carpet. The dress itself is very old school, with the exaggerated corsetry, the draping, the fur cape. The end result on her is very “Hunger Games.” And the hair color too closely matches the dress.  George and Amal Clooney: A+ Amal Clooney and George Clooney attend the “Wolfs” red carpet during the 81st Venice International Film Festival.
