In this special episode of WWD Voices, Eugenia Richman, editor in chief of WWD, interviews Tiffany Dufu, president of Tory Burch Foundation, on the mainstage at the fourth annual WWD x FN x Beauty Inc Women in Power event in New York, on reshaping work culture for women. Dufu’s focus, she said, is on women entrepreneurs, which the foundation aims to champion nationwide by lining up access to capital, education and community. “My life’s work is advancing women and girls. It’s not just my job. It’s why I wake up in the morning. It’s why I’m here on the planet.” Looking at women’s entrepreneurship today, the foundation’s biggest challenge has to do with revenue. It’s one of the reasons why Dufu took this job. Through partnerships with financial institutions, the foundation strives to get capital into the hands of women entrepreneurs outside of the grants it already provides. One of these partnerships includes teaming up with Bank of America to provide more than $100 million in low-interest loans to women entrepreneurs.
