The iHeartRadio Music Awards are nearly here, which means another red carpet event is on the way. The iHeartRadio Music Awards Red Carpet will take place on Monday, and feature a bevy of music industry stars and celebrities in their best red carpet looks at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. This year, the iHeartRadio Music Awards are taking a unique turn with their yellow carpet. The history of celebrity style on the award show carpet and how it got its hue is a long and winding one. It was theater magnate Sid Grauman, the creator of the Chinese Theatre and the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, who became the first to use the red carpet for a Hollywood premiere in 1922. But over the last century, events and public occasions in Hollywood have toyed with color, opting at times for hues that are more aesthetically pleasing or fitting for the event’s essence.
