Queen Camilla Brings Sartorial Contrast and More Historic British Jewels to New York City

Queen Camilla favored her go-to designer Fiona Clare Aldridge on Wednesday during engagements alongside King Charles III in New York City for the second leg of their United States tour. For the morning’s National September 11 Memorial visit, Queen Camilla wore a bespoke navy coatdress by Fiona Clare Aldridge, a designer the queen consort has worn several times since King Charles’ ascension to the throne. The long-sleeve dress featured embroidery on the bodice, a botanical leaf-inspired design with intricacy. Queen Camilla’s dress also included soft pleating and a midi hemline for the springtime season, though temperatures in New York City have still been brisk this season. King Charles III and Queen Camilla Getty Images The U.K.’s queen consort wore Eliot Zed leather pumps and accessorized with pearl drop earrings and the Queen Mother’s Britannia Brooch. Britannia is the personified national symbol of Britain initially used during Roman times, according the The Court Jeweller. The female warrior is depicted with a Corinthian helmet carrying a trident and olive branch in each hand. She also has a shield depicting the design of the Union Jack.
