What to Know About HBO Max’s ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot

After initially delayed due to the pandemic, the reboot of the beloved teen drama “Gossip Girl” is making its debut next month on HBO Max. The reboot takes place nine years after the original show ended and follows a new crop of teenagers who are dealing with the reemergence of the anonymous blog as social media plays a larger role in their lives. The original show was one of the most popular — and fashionable — series in the late Aughts and early 2010s, with then-up-and-coming actresses Leighton Meester and Blake Lively starting their careers with their iconic roles as Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodson, respectively.
