Dakota Johnson Embraces Structural Minimalism in Valentino for the Governors Awards 2025 Red Carpet

Dakota Johnson leaned into modern minimalism with her strapless Valentino look at the Governors Awards 2025 red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday night. The “Splitsville” star, who collaborated with award-winning stylist Kate Young on her look, turned to Valentino’s spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection. JC Olivera Subtle patterning was also included in the design of the dress’ fabric, creating a movement-based illusion to the overall look. Structurally minimalist, Johnson’s dress included a cinched waist for silhouette definition and gathered fabric at the hip for added depth to the flowing skirt. As for accessories, Johnson favored jewelry pieces from Jessica McCormack, including earrings and dainty rings to add a touch of shimmer to her muted look. Her hair was styled straight and down with fringe to frame her face, and signature makeup elements like lined eyes and a neutral lip were incorporated into her look.
