Gigi Hadid Hosts Dinner for Guest in Residence Collaboration With Caviar Kaspia

What would New York Fashion Week be without a dinner at Caviar Kaspia at The Mark? On Thursday night, the evening before the official start of the shows, Gigi Hadid hosted an intimate dinner for friends including Helena Christensen, Taylor Hill, Daphne Groeneveld, Patrick Ta and Astrid Baarsma. Hadid’s knitwear brand Guest in Residence was celebrating the launch of its collaboration with Caviar Kaspia, which includes two colorful cashmere sweaters featuring the restaurant’s signature teal hue and tin artwork. “It starts to feel like the best parts of art class when we get to collaborate with other people, brands and places that have such strong memories and are so well-branded really in their own right. We get to take the best of what they’ve created and put it into knitwear,” Hadid said. “I thought that a great way to celebrate Caviar Kaspia was with that beautiful imagery. And the colors to me are the most fun part of what I do. Sitting down on the floor with all the swatches for tha...

Usher, Tom Hiddleston, Naomi Campbell and More Celebrate at Ralph Lauren NYFW Party

After the final runway bow, Ralph Lauren’s night in the Hamptons continued with a dinner experience that was straight from the Polo Bar.  Guests made their way into the dinner space, which revealed itself to be a near-replica of the Midtown Manhattan hotspot – even the restaurant’s maître d’ Nelly Moudime was on hand. The restaurant’s signature popovers were waiting in baskets, and a bar had been set up with “Hamptons Spritzes” and “Ralph’s Lemonade Iced Tea” on offer. The main difference? The recreated Polo Bar was about twice the size of the Manhattan one, leaving much more room to mingle. After walking in the show, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington relaxed inside the venue, posing for pictures together and receiving many compliments. In a corner booth nearby, the man himself – Mr. Ralph Lauren – was dressed in one of the brand’s polo shirts from the closing ceremony of the Olympics with USA emblazoned on the front, talking with his seat mate, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. “Have...

Celebrities Front Row at Ralph Lauren Spring 2025: First Lady Jill Biden, Usher, Jude Law and More

“Color me impressed,” rising actress Diana Silvers said to the gentleman next to her Thursday evening ahead of Ralph Lauren’s spring 2025 show, as she took in the scene around her. After many hours in the car — or a short few in a chopper, if you’re lucky, famous or both — guests were deposited onto a meticulously curated equestrian scene in Bridgehampton, N.Y., where the night began with an outdoor cocktail hour next to a pasture of horses. Adding to the impression was the night’s big VIP: none other than First Lady Jill Biden, who attended with granddaughter Finnegan Biden. Other celebrity guests included Jude Law, Usher, Kacey Musgraves, Naomi Watts, Colman Domingo, Tom Hiddleston, Cole Spouse, Joey King, Laura Dern and daughter Jaya Harper, Demi Singleton, H.E.R., Justin Theroux and Rufus Wainwright. Biden was approached by one celebrity after the next. Hiddleston themed his questions around their surroundings.  “Do you ride horses?” he asked her. “No,” she replied.  It wa...

‘Uglies’ Star Joey King Kicks Off New York Fashion Week With Longchamp

“I’m number two.” Joey King had just gotten her numerology reading, and was relaying what the number represented: harmony. “I like communication, openness, and compromise,” said King, reading the back of the numerology card, which she’d picked up during Longchamp’s fashion week party at Location05 in Hudson Yards. The actress was Longchamp’s number one for the evening, the special guest at an event celebrating the brand’s fall 2024 collection and Le Roseau handbag. “I’ve always been a fan of the brand,” said King, dressed in a full green-and-orange Longchamp look for the occasion. “I’ve had a Longchamp bag since I was 17 or 18 years old. It is my go-to: dress up, dress down; casual, breezy,” she added. “As I’ve gotten older, I feel like they make a lot of pieces that connect with who I’ve grown into.” King is gearing up to release her latest project, a film adaptation of the popular YA book “Uglies” for Netflix. In addition to starring as main character Tally Youngblood, King served as...

How Max Retailer Is Helping Retailers and Brands Manage Excess Inventory

In this episode of WWD Voices, host Arthur Zaczkiewicz, executive editor at WWD, interviewed Melodie van der Baan, cofounder and chief executive officer of Max Retailer. During the discussion, van der Baan shared insights into the challenges faced by small retailers and independent brands regarding excess inventory and how her company is making strides to address these issues efficiently. Max Retailer operates as a zero-inventory tech platform that specializes in connecting independent retailers and brands with excess inventory to online retailers and marketplaces. The goal is to secure higher payouts for these companies than what is typically seen with traditional liquidation methods, and to do so with minimal effort on their part. “It’s about getting these companies the financial returns they need with the least hassle,” van der Baan said. Small and independent retailers often find themselves at a disadvantage when it comes to handling unsold inventory. Unlike large retailers who can...
