The North Face has tapped Under Armour’s Kelly Cortina to serve as its vice president of global product and has promoted Darren Cookson to global vice president of merchandising. “Kelly and Darren are deeply rooted in our industry and bring fantastic experience and leadership to The North Face,” said Arne Arens, global brand president for The North Face. “Kelly’s focus on product excellence is vital for our global growth, and Darren brings a deep understanding of the market to lead our global merchandising teams. They are key players as we evolve to meet the demands of a global market and build community around a shared appreciation of exploration.” Cortina spent the past 13 years at Under Armour in a variety of roles, including product creation, direct-to-consumer and global merchandising positions. In her new position, she will oversee lead product strategy and innovation globally for the VF Corp.-owned brand. For the past three years, Cookson was vice president of product and merchandising for the European, Middle East and African markets for The North Face, responsible for merchandising, management, design and development for that region.
