Kim Kardashian’s Daughter North West Performs at Hollywood Bowl in ERL’s Bespoke ‘Lion King’ Costume That Gave Disney’s Young Simba Streetwear Twists
North West can officially add musical theater star to her resume: the eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West took the Hollywood Bowl stage by storm on Friday and Saturday, performing in a 30th anniversary production of “The Lion King.” Playing the Disney flick’s titular feline, West was introduced by Jason Weaver, the original singing voice of young Simba, who referred to West’s “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” performance as her “Hollywood debut.” North West and Kim Kardashian at a basketball game in Los Angeles in May. “What an honor it is to share the same stage with this young superstar in the making,” Weaver later wrote on Instagram. West’s custom costume, crafted by Eli Russell Linnetz, channeled the label’s streetwear aesthetics. The aspiring actress and rapper paired yellow sweatshorts with a baggy zip-up jacket featuring a shearling hood resembling a lion’s mane. Calf-length socks and furry slippers completed her look. West’s ensemble was inspired by designs from ERL’s spring 2024 Made-in-California collection. Kim, Kourtney Kardashian, Travis Barker and Kris Jenner were in the crowd, with the Skims cofounder sharing behind-the-scenes snaps on her Instagram story.
