Getting Ready for Miu Miu’s Spring 2025 Show With Actress Kiernan Shipka

Kiernan Shipka was one of the many famous faces who took in the Miu Miu show during Paris Fashion Week — and it was one for the books.  “It was one of my favorite show going experiences that I’ve ever had, because there’s just this really incredible palpable energy that they create in there,” Shipka said. “I feel like there’s always so much anticipation and excitement around that show, and it was so wonderful, and the surprises were just delightful. I mean, every surprise guest was amazing. You could just feel the energy and actually see people’s jaws dropping throughout the show, and it was amazing. It was really memorable.” The show’s surprises included none other than Willem Dafoe walking the runway, which Shipka says was as cool to experience from the front row as to be expected.  “There was a shift. It was so cool. You could just feel everybody internally, and maybe also externally, freaking out,” she said. “I desperately pulled out my phone as quickly as possible. And then I trie

After ‘Cleopatra & Frankenstein’ Success, Coco Mellors Explores Sister Dynamics in ‘Blue Sisters’

In many ways, Coco Mellors found sudden success with her debut novel, “Cleopatra and Frankenstein.” The book, released in 2022, became a national bestseller and a TV adaptation from Warner Brothers is in the works — yet it took the writer five years to complete and get the book sold, making it feel like a much longer process.  Over the last two of those years, she was at work on her next book, which has finally arrived on shelves. “Blue Sisters” follows three estranged sisters — Bonnie, Avery and Lucky, each living separate lives in separate cities — who reunite after the death of their fourth sister, Nicky, when they learn their parents plan to sell the New York apartment where they grew up. “I knew I wanted to write about siblings, I wanted to write about sisters,” says the London-raised, New York-based author. “I was very inspired by something that a friend of mine, who’s one of four sisters, had said to me: if you don’t know my sisters, you don’t know me. And so I really loved this

‘Rebel Ridge’ Is AnnaSophia Robb’s Grown-up Moment

“I was dropping stuff off at my dry cleaner and he was like, ‘I think I saw you this weekend,’” says AnnaSophia Robb. The 30-year-old actress has been in recognizable projects since her major breakout at age 9 in “Because of Winn-Dixie,” yet there’s something different about number-one-movie-on-Netflix notoriety, as she is experiencing with the success of her new film “Rebel Ridge.” “It’s one of the things I didn’t really anticipate. With streamers, because it’s accessible all over the world at the same time, that is a different experience than a movie coming out in the theater,” Robb adds.  Robb has been attached to “Rebel Ridge,” from director Jeremy Saulnier, since her first audition in 2019, and with the pandemic and a few casting changes it took several years for it to come to life. With the final product out now — and garnering more than 30 million views in its first three days on Netflix — she knows it was worth the wait. “I’ve been working for a long time and I feel very gratef

Hedi Slimane Is Leaving Celine

Celine and Hedi Slimane are parting ways after a fruitful, seven-year collaboration. Celine parent LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton announced his departure in a brief statement. “Under his creative and artistic direction, Celine has experienced exceptional growth and established itself as an iconic French couture house,” it said. “The holistic vision of Hedi Slimane, his exigence and rigor have made it possible to redefine the codes of Celine whilst reaffirming its feminine and Parisian roots,” it continued. “He has also remarkably enriched new territories for the maison such as the men’s silhouette, couture and haute parfumerie. The extraordinary journey taken together over the last seven years has made Celine a house with a formidable foundation for the future.“ Celine declined further comment, including on its succession plan. WWD reported on April 24 that Celine was girding for a possible Slimane exit and was lining up a potential successor in Polo Ralph Lauren creative director Mi

Attending the Courrèges Show With K-Pop Star Wooyoung From Ateez

Wooyoung, a member of K-pop group Ateez, made his fashion show front row debut last week at Courrèges during Paris Fashion Week. He joined other VIP show guests including Juliette Binoche, Brooklyn Beckham, Nicola Peltz and Leila George. Ahead of the show, Wooyoung shared his love of denim and plaid and fielded questions about Ateez’s next performance date. (“I don’t know,” he said, smiling.) He attended the show, held at the Carreau du Temple, wearing a coordinating denim Courrèges jacket and pants look. He accessorized the look with a pair of black sunglasses worn on his head and several silver rings. After the show, Wooyoung stopped backstage to meet creative director Nicolas Di Felice before signing autographs for Atiny, Ateez’s fanbase (the name is a contraction of “Ateez” and “destiny”), who were waiting outside the venue. Later that night, Wooyoung met up with fellow Ateez member Hongjoong, who was in town for the Balmain and Vivienne Westwood shows. Their groupmate Seonghwa att

How a Historic Courthouse Turned Into Litchfield, Conn.’s Hot New Spot

Litchfield County has long been the preferred home-away-from-home for many chic New Yorkers, including Diane von Furstenberg, Wes Gordon, and Oscar and Annette de la Renta, but the hotel offering has been fairly limited. That is slowly starting to change, opening up the area to more and more visitors. Earlier this summer, Lost Fox Inn opened from the Foxfire Mountain House team; next spring, nearby Troutbeck will open Belden House & Mews; and this September, the Salt Hotels team has turned the town of Litchfield’s historical courthouse into a boutique hotel, restaurant and rooftop bar, called The Abner. The courthouse closed in 2017, and a deed search on the building revealed that the property reverted back to six of the original landowners. Of those, only one family had maintained the rights through the generations, meaning one gentleman out on the West Coast found himself the rightful heir to an old courthouse in Connecticut.  “He ended up selling it to the Litchfield Preservatio
