Commando Bodysuits, Thongs, and Slips Were the Ultimate Celeb Secret Style Weapon at the 2025 Oscars

The most awe-inspiring element of last Sunday’s 97th annual Oscars was no doubt the garb celebrities walked the red carpet in — that is, everything visibly bedecking their bodies (even if it was see-through, as Julia Fox’s sheer-as-can-be dress certainly was). What hid slightly below the surface were concealing, contouring undergarments from Commando that ensured attendees looked colloquially snatched to the max. To look photo-ready from all angles and feel their best during a long, glamorous night out, even A-listers — stars, they’re just like us! — require seamless support and comfort. Undergarment offerings from top brands such as Commando have long been the secret style weapon of choice for your favorite celebs. These include everything from incognito underwear, like the Commando Classic Solid Thong worn under Kendall Jenner’s semi-sheer Mugler dress ...

Anne Imhof Unveils ‘Doom: House of Hope’ at Park Avenue Armory

Wherefore art thou Romeo? Anne Imhof’s new performance piece “Doom: House of Hope,” lets several Romeos answer — and leaves audiences to untangle their own “why” during the three-hour runtime. Shakespearean characters, rendered in a stark aesthetic, appear in vignettes throughout the Park Avenue Armory’s Wade Thompson Drill Hall, outfitted with a fleet of black SUVs parked throughout the hazy space. Early on, Romeo appears in the back of a black Cadillac pickup truck, imbibing a shot alongside Juliet, while another Romeo gets tattooed atop the neighboring SUV. Other cast members — Mercutios, Benvolios, Tybalts, dancers and other creatives — climb on and into other cars around the room, where performers hold extended dance poses, smoke and read aloud from their cell phone screens.  The show opens with a “funeral march” for Romeo and Juliet as the ensemble cast advances toward the audience, waiting behind barricades. Once removed, guests are left to wander around the room and find th...

This Taylor Swift-Approved Under-$200 Tennis Necklace Is Finally Back in Stock Today

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. If there’s any celebrity that can sell out a piece of clothing or jewelry as soon as paparazzi shots of her wearing it are released, it’s Taylor Swift. Lucky for Swifties and fashionistas who admire the songstress’ chic style, one of the relatively affordable necklaces Swift has recently worn is finally back in stock today. Over the years, Taylor Swift’s jewelry for game days in particular — donned while supporting boyfriend and tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce — generated a not-so-insignificant amount of buzz. As recently as last month, at the Super Bowl LIX, Swift subscribed to the TikTok-viral hand chain trend by showing off Logan Hollowell’s Eau de Rose Cut Iris Diamond Hand Chain in conjunction with ruby-studded bracelets and rings by Effy Jewelry. Obviously, everyone and their mothers ran to snag this exact access...

Aerin Lauder Celebrates ‘Living With Flowers’ Book at Ralph Lauren Flagship

Spring may still be a few weeks away, but flowers were in no short supply at the Ralph Lauren flagship in New York on Monday night. Arrangements of various colors and sizes — and lineup of classic Polo Bar cocktails — welcomed guests as they arrived to celebrate the launch of Aerin Lauder‘s new Rizzoli book, “Living With Flowers.” “I can’t think of a more perfect place to launch in New York than Ralph Lauren,” said Lauder, holding court on the second floor as she cohosted the release party with David Lauren and Lauren Bush Lauren. “When I was starting my brand 12 years ago, I was always being inspired by amazing lifestyle brands. When I think of lifestyle, I think of Ralph Lauren and what he’s created.” “Living With Flowers” is an exploration of how flowers have manifested in Lauder’s day-to-day life, home, and lifestyle brand Aerin. “It was an opportunity to showcase flowers in different ways, and not just as a traditional bouquet of flowers,” said Lauder; the photo-driven book includ...

Nail the Nude Lip Trend That Dominated the 2025 Oscars Red Carpet With These Celeb-Used Beauty Products

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. Nude lipstick is having a major moment right now, and though it’s not only hot on red carpets, the 2025 Academy Awards and subsequent after-parties put no shortage of nude lip iterations on full display. The trendiness of nude hues for lips, which has slowly gained momentum since the 2024 Golden Globes, has a lot to do with just how versatile this subtle shade family is. There’s a time and place for a bold red lip, of course, but lip products in the “barely there” genre can match any outfit (from day to night) and complement every skin tone under the sun —. as long as you choose a just-right color match, of course. At the 2025 Oscars awards ceremony — and the revelries after, as mentioned — everyone from “Best Actress” winner Mikey Madison to Sofia Richie Grange to Lindsay Lohan made us fall in love with nude lipstick all over again, proving that...

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. It’s safe to say this year’s Oscars were chock-full of buzzy moments — from Zoe Saldaña‘s tearjerking award acceptance speech to Adrien Brody‘s gum toss — and stunning outfit ensembles alike. Sheer dresses dominated; Timothée Chalamet put butter yellow front and center; and silver tones (a perfect representative of which was Halle Barry’s mirrored Christian Siriano gown) provided flashiness beyond the cameras. Perhaps even more spectacular was the sheer amount of “great hair days” spotted on the Oscars 2025 red carpet, which seemed to be in fluent conversation with the stars’ fashions of the evening. As soon as tastemakers hit the red carpet last night, our WWD beauty editors started thorough research of the hair essentials and tools used by celebrity hairstylists to achieve styles spanning from wave-forward bobs to tiara buns. We were ...

Best Dressed at 2025 Oscars

The 2025 Academy Awards mark the grand finale of the awards season. Fad dressing was nowhere to be found on the best dressed of this year’s red carpet; rather, superchic, ultra-glamour won out. Topping the list was Demi Moore, who glistened in a custom Giorgio Armani Privé crystal-embroidered gown with a plunge neckline and pleated hip detailing, complete with dramatic train. She also led one of the big trends of the night: metallics.  Another such trend was corset construction, and the winner of the category goes to Ariana Grande. Her Schiaparelli couture gown, inspired by an Alberto Giacometti lamp, featured more than 190,000 crystal sequins, rhinestones and cut beads. This modern sculptural marvel was the perfect choice for the finale of this Glinda-inspired press tour.  Also in a soft pink was Monica Barbaro, in a custom Dior gown. The pleated A-line floor-sweeping skirt and beaded bra top was one of the more modern looks of the night — without compromising in old-school g...
