The early 2000s were a golden age of designer bag trends — think logomania, micro baguettes, and East-West shoulder bags — all of which have staged major comebacks in recent seasons. But, until now, one iconic carryall remained in the archives: the hefty satchel bag. Once an essential purse pairing to boho-inspired ensembles slung over the arms of “It girls like Mischa Barton, Nicole Richie, and Sienna Miller, Y2K satchel bags defined the era’s laid-back, effortlessly cool style — and it had the Tumblr reblogs to prove it.
