Fashion Events Canceled or Postponed Following the Israel-Hamas War: Live Updates

With the Israel-Hamas war escalating, people around the world have been researching, reaching out to help and mourning the deaths associated with the crisis. The conflict, which began on Saturday in Gaza, has already claimed thousands of lives.  In light of the surrounding humanitarian tragedy, the fashion world has responded by canceling and postponing a slew of events. The events range from store openings to fashion red carpets and major galas and award shows. To stay informed, here is a list of major fashion events in the Middle East, U.S. and beyond, that have been canceled or postponed following the 2023 Israel-Hamas war.  The Academy of Motion Pictures Gala Lady Gaga at the 2021 Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala on Sept. 25 in Los Angeles, California. The 2023 Academy of Motion Pictures Gala set to happen on Saturday in Los Angeles has been postponed. The gala would have included a red carpet and a fundraiser for the museum, honoring Meryl Streep, Michael B. Jordan and other actors. “Out of respect for the devastating conflict and loss of life happening overseas, we have made the decision to postpone the Academy Museum gala this Saturday,” WWD reported part of a statement read from an Academy Museum spokesperson
