At the Venice Film Festival, it’s typically the extravagant gowns that command the red carpet spotlight, but this weekend a pared-back denim look stole the show. Julia Roberts and Amanda Seyfried turned heads when they appeared at separate photo calls wearing the same Versace outfit just two days apart. Of course, the twinning moment was no coincidence — stylist Elizabeth Stewart revealed that Amanda Seyfried borrowed Roberts’ look, writing “sharing is caring” and highlighting the sustainability of it all. Earlier this year, Donatella Versace announced her departure as creative director of Versace, naming Dario Vitale, formerly Miu Miu’s ready-to-wear design director, as her successor. On Friday, Roberts offered the first glimpse of Vitale’s vision for the house in a navy blazer with a slightly oversized cut, layered over a striped button-down casually unbuttoned and pushed up at the sleeves.
