Getting Ready With Lexi Minetree for ‘Elle’ Premiere in Betsey Johnson

What other way to pay homage to Elle Woods than custom Betsey Johnson? For the premiere of the new Prime Video series “Elle,” a prequel to the famed “Legally Blonde” movies, actress Lexi Minetree went pink and sparkly, in a long custom Betsey Johnson gown, Bulgari bag and Bulgari jewels.  “I feel so beautiful in it,” the 25-year-old says.  Lexi Minetree Emily Soto/Courtesy photo Minetree, who was hand-picked for the role by the original Elle Woods, Reese Witherspoon herself, has been working with stylist Molly Dickson on “Legally Blonde” and ‘90s themed looks for the press tour (the show is set in 1995).  “When I came to [Dickson] I was like, ‘Elle Woods is a fashion icon and I want to pay homage to that. Obviously I want to pay tribute to ’90s fashion and couture, but I would also love to tip with a hat to Elle’s movies, too.’” That has resulted in baby blue Dolce & Gabbana as well as the light pink Betsey Johnson moment — and plenty of jewels.  “This is a whole new experience for me.
