Tianjin Authorities Name Archroma Among Companies on the ‘Green Factory’ List

The “Green Factory” list is comprised of 56 companies that are evaluated against 92 indicators including site intensification, production cleanliness, energy consumption efficiency, raw material recycling, environmental impact, product ecological profile and carbon footprint. This initiative is one part of the nine strategic objectives to foster green manufacturing by Chinese authorities under the “Made in China 2025” plan. Archroma said it made the Green Factory list. Archroma’s production site in Tianjin is has been integrated into the Archroma Management System and is certified to ISO 9001. Additional system upgrades were made and certified. The company notes a commitment to the United Nations Global Compact and Responsible Care as part of its local framework. “We continuously challenge the status quo to make our industry sustainable,” said Andreas Wickli, president of operations at Archroma. “Therefore, this is a fantastic and pioneering recognition for us all at Archroma and underpins that we are on the right track.” The company adds being included on the “Green Factory” list to its list of initiatives to further sustainable operations in Tianjin.
