Beyoncé is entering the hair care industry. On Wednesday, the songstress announced her new business venture, Cécred, via social media and her website, beyonce.com. Launching later this month, the new product line looks to feature items fit for a variety of hair textures. “Hair is sacred,” Beyoncé wrote on Instagram. “The journey begins Feb 20.” A new teaser shows her mother Tina’s salon, Headliners, in Houston, where Beyoncé once worked sweeping hair. Interspersed with the footage are clips and images of women, including Beyoncé’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, getting their hair washed, styled and braided. However, a publicly accessible trademark request filed in the summer of 2022 cleared Cécred for the production of hair care preparations, candles, vitamin supplements, electric hairstyling tools, combs, hair accessories, pillow cases as well as four other goods and services categories. According to a May 2023 report, sources told WWD that the brand will be helmed by Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson.
