Macy’s Is Closing 66 Stores in 2025 — Here’s the List, Live Updates

Macy’s Inc. on Thursday disclosed the locations of the 66 stores it will close this year, a list that includes the Macy’s department store in downtown Brooklyn. In New York City, Macy’s is also shuttering its Staten Island furniture store, and the Macy’s Backstage off-price stores in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn; Fordham Place in the Bronx, and Queens Place in Queens. The downsizing, which is part of the retailer’s Bold New Chapter strategy announced in February 2024, calls for closing approximately 150 underproductive stores while investing in its 350 “go-forward” Macy’s locations, all through fiscal 2026. Last month, Macy’s upped its store closing count this year to 66 from 55, as previously reported. Michael Urie Is in His Dreamy Era

“It’s been a dreamy couple of years,” says Michael Urie on a Friday afternoon phone call, just hours before a performance of his latest Broadway show “Once Upon a Mattress” at the Hudson Theatre.
