Getting Ready With Tyler James Williams for the 2026 Emmy Awards

For the 2026 Emmy Awards, “Abbott Elementary” star and best supporting actor nominee Tyler James Williams tapped into Y2K fashion nostalgia. Working with stylist Brooklin Phelps, Williams suited up in an archival Givenchy jacket, designed by Alexander McQueen for the house’s 1999 spring collection. “The fit felt like it had been designed by someone who had a deep knowledge of tailoring,” Williams says of slipping on the jacket. The actor paired the look with a Hublot Classic Fusion Aerofusion Moonphase Black Magic 42mm watch and ring by Loree Rodkin. The actor gives WWD a behind-the-scenes look as he got ready for the red carpet and awards ceremony — and shares what’s ahead for the sixth season of “Abbott Elementary,” which premieres on Oct. 7. What drew you to this vintage Alexander McQueen for Givenchy look for the Emmy Awards ceremony? Tyler James Williams: I originally tried this look on for a cover shoot I was doing for Haute Living.
