Michelle Obama arrived on the red carpet for the New Orleans premiere of “American Symphony” on Thursday wearing a chocolate brown ensemble, including a leather coat, leather corset top, matching trousers and statement belt from Sergio Hudson. Obama’s look was from Sergio Hudson’s spring 2024 collection, which featured many of the designer’s usual motifs, including power suits, vibrant colors and statement shoulder pads. That same evening, Vice President Kamala Harris, who has also been considered a boon to the young designer’s career, wore a custom sequin dress and black coat from the brand.
