Collaborations can be good business, drawing in new customers with pop culture sensations and generating buzz — and sales — in the process. In 2023, Fendi partnered with Marc Jacobs, Balmain teamed up with Beyoncé and Louis Vuitton worked with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. But fashion collabs aren’t a fresh idea. In 1937, Salvador Dali collaborated with Schiaparelli, and his influence can be seen again as a source of inspiration for Daniel Roseberry’s spring 2024 collection. H&M has orchestrated several collaborations with high fashion designers, including in 2004 with Karl Lagerfeld. Since then, H&M has partnered with Versace, Comme des Garçons, Balmain, Maison Margiela and Stella McCartney. In October, H&M unveiled a new collaboration with French house Rabanne.
