Getting Ready With Miles Caton for the 2026 Critics Choice Awards

Nearly a year after its initial theatrical release, “Sinners” is continuing to mark a major breakout moment for star Miles Caton. On Sunday night, the actor took home the Critics Choice award for Best Young Actor for his portrayal of an aspiring blues musician in Ryan Coogler’s multifaceted horror film. The actor, who also sings in the film and is prominently featured on the soundtrack, joined H.E.R. on tour in 2022 and released his debut single in 2023 before Coogler cast him in his debut acting role. Ahead of the ceremony and his moment onstage, Caton was listening to his usual playlists — hip-hop and R&B — and excited about reconnecting with his costars including Michael B. Jordan and Wunmi Mosaku. The 20-year-old actor and singer wore a classic black-tie Louis Vuitton look for the occasion, styled by Eric Figueroa Jr. “Working with Eric, he knows my style and understands what I am looking for,” said Caton, who praised his “clean and tailored” Louis Vuitton look. “It’s about finding someone who aligns with your style and can kind of read your mind before you have to say anything about your look or what you want to wear.” Here, Caton takes WWD behind the scenes as
