Red Carpet Hits and Misses at the 2026 Golden Globes

The Golden Globes red carpet has long been one of awards season’s most fashion forward stages. Less rigid than the Oscars and more playful than many other ceremonies, it has historically encouraged celebrities to take risks, experiment with silhouettes, and redefine red carpet norms. Some of the Globes’ most iconic fashion moments reflect that spirit, from Julia Roberts breaking convention in a sharp Giorgio Armani power suit in 1990 to Charlize Theron floating onto the carpet in an ethereal yellow Dior gown in 2004, a look that remains one of the most referenced dresses in awards season history. Of course, where risk thrives, missteps follow. Ill-fitting garments, overworked concepts or styling that fails to translate on camera have historically landed looks on the worst dressed list. However, those moments were few and far between this time around. The 83rd Golden Globe ceremony continued that tradition, with style once again rivaling the excitement of the nominations themselves. Michael Urie Is in His Dreamy Era

“It’s been a dreamy couple of years,” says Michael Urie on a Friday afternoon phone call, just hours before a performance of his latest Broadway show “Once Upon a Mattress” at the Hudson Theatre.
