Ava DuVernay Goes for Glamour in Louis Vuitton and Prada Ensembles to Promote ‘Origin’ at Venice Film Festival 2023
Ava DuVernay attended the Venice International Film Festival in Venice on Wednesday. The Oscar-winning director appeared at the photo call and red carpet premiere of her latest film, “Origin.” Ava DuVernay at the Venice International Film Festival on Sept. 6 in Venice. For the first event, DuVernay opted for a monogram-on-monogram ensemble, wearing a white cutout blouse and pleated midi skirt with a contrast zipper closure by Louis Vuitton. The Oscar-winning director accessorized with black open-toe heels, a leather bracelet and small gold hoops, wearing her hair in a high ponytail. Hours later, DuVernay changed into a pale yellow satin off-the-shoulder gown by Prada. She added a gold triangular clutch bearing the Italian label’s logo. DuVernay completed her red carpet ensemble with two pieces of Bulgari jewelry: yellow diamond chandelier earrings and a diamond choker. Following her directorial debut in 2010, DuVernay became the first Black woman to receive an Oscar nomination in 2014 for her Martin Luther King Jr. biopic, “Selma.” Her most recent feat, “Origin,” is based on Isabel Wilkerson’s 2020 book, “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents.” Ava DuVernay at the Venice International Film Festival on Sept. 6 in Venice.
