Olivia Culpo has come far from her days as Miss USA and Miss Universe. The beauty pageant queen turned model, actress and media personality has garnered film roles, including playing the female lead in “Venus as a Boy,” and has snagged influencer partnerships with brands like L’Oréal, Kipling and Uberliss. Now, Culpo is further solidifying her place as a fashion trendsetter. During New York Fashion Week, she gave WWD some insight as to how she gets ready with shoe brand Sam Edelman for the annual fashion fest and tips on developing a personal style. WWD: When building an outfit, what do you start with first and why?Olivia Culpo: I thrive on the thrill of creating a captivating look and, for me, it all begins with a bold statement accessory. Whether it’s a pair of amazing pumps that demand attention (like my Sam Edelman selects), or a special designer bag, that sets the tone for my entire ensemble.
