Y2K-era Pop Stars Hold Court at NYFW With Hayley Williams, Avril Lavigne and Kesha

New York Fashion Week officially began on Friday, and celebrities are taking over the front rows. So far this season, the annual start of fashion month has brought a handful of pop stars that rose to fame in the early 2000s, helping brands celebrate their spring 2024 collection debuts. WWD looks at some of the Y2K pop stars who have appeared at New York Fashion Week. Avril Lavigne Avril Lavigne attends the Nylon Presents Nylon Nights during fashion week 2023 on Sept. 6. Avril Lavigne has been making the rounds at New York Fashion Week from parties to front rows. Lavigne started off NYFW attending a party for Nylon where she wore a gray, black and white puppet print shirt dress from Vivienne Westwood. She paired the dress with a black purse with grommet and metal ring details. She had her hair tied up in buns similar to a Japanese odongo style. Avril Lavigne attends the Christian Siriano spring runway show on Sept. 8. Lavigne then joined the celebrities attending Christian Siriano’s runway show on Friday, she wore an all-black latex ensemble with a lace top underneath. She complemented the look with a Gothic makeup style, featuring a cat-eye eye shadow and eyeliner

Ciara opted for utilitarian styling for her Black Women in Excellence Dinner on Sunday in London.
