Ethan Hawke Brings Protest Fashion to ‘Wildcat’ Premiere With Daughter Maya Hawke in Support of SAG-AFTRA Strike at Telluride Film Festival 2023

Ethan and Maya Hawke attended the premiere of “Wildcat” during the 2023 Telluride Film Festival on Friday in Telluride, Colorado, embracing relaxed fall-themed looks while making a statement. To celebrate the film, Maya wore a simple striped shirt with a denim jacket and jeans set, pairing the look with chunky black boots. Ethan went sharp in a black suit with a “Strike” T-shirt underneath. Maya Hawke and Ethan Hawke Ethan’s T-shirt nods to the ongoing strike in Hollywood, promoted by the SAG-AFTRA actors and the WGA writers over an ongoing labor dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television. The director and actor is one of the latest stars to show support for the strike. Olivia Wilde, Amy Adams, Elizabeth Banks, Kerry Washington and more have joined the picket lines in Los Angeles and New York. Written by Ethan and Shelby Gaines, “Wildcat” is an upcoming film about author Flannery O’Connor, who is portrayed in the movie by Maya. The famed American novelist is best known for her 1955 work “A Good Man Is Hard to Find.” The daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, Maya recently featured alongside Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks in the Wes Anderson-directed film “Asteroid City.”
