The dream quotient is meant to be high for couture fashion as well as its corresponding beauty looks. And for the spring 2020 season, many a brand delivered. For Schiaparelli, while most of the makeup looks created by Erin Parsons involved models’ skin having a glowing, natural aura, three sported faux jewels. One had the glittering stones affixed to her face, neck and chest, echoing those of the dress she would wear. Another had black and blue fake stones decorating her arms, while a third’s featured gold-colored embellishments. Over at Jean Paul Gaultier, Parsons fashioned various looks for the show. “We’re doing this wild, smoky eye in different colors — red, blue, orange, yellow,” she explained, describing one. For Viktor & Rolf, models sported fake tattoos on their bodies and faces. Some of these said “love,” “peace” or “flowers,” while others had phrases, such as “you must be the change you want to see in the world.” Hair and makeup also took fantastic turns on the runways of Guo Pei, Ulyana Sergeenko, Xuan, Maison Margiela, Yuima Nakazato and RVDK Ronald van der Kemp, among others.
